He is a researcher at the School of Computer Science, Peking University, the deputy director of the Institute of Metaverse Technology, and the deputy director of the National Key Laboratory. His main research interests are virtual/augmented reality, virtual simulation, computer graphics, etc. He has presided over more than 30 national and national defense key scientific research projects, including national key research and development projects, natural science foundations, etc. He has published more than 100 papers in important international and domestic journals including ACM TOG (Siggraph), IEEE TVCG, CGF, IEEE VR, CVPR, ACM MM, etc. More than 50 Chinese/American invention patents have been applied/authorized, and 20 have been transferred. In 2022, he won the first prize of technological invention of China Computer Federation, and won 5 other provincial and ministerial awards such as the first prize of scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Education. He has been nominated for the CGI Best Paper Award and the IEEE VR Best Paper Award at the Virtual Reality Conference.
